The Isabell Kristensen couture corset and Philip Treacy hat similar to those worn by Jerry Hall in the black and white photograph included in this lot. She gives a warning to the future owner of the corset, though: ‘It’s very hard to breathe in!’’

The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The black silk corset: in generally good condition. With gentle wear due to age and use. Some minor snags to the front and a few small marks. The inside seam to the top right cup has come undone slightly with a little fraying. With a 11 cm. horizontal tear along the eyelets to the right back panel on the inside. The fabric has come loose from a few of the eyelets around the site of tearing. The ribbon used and frayed, particularly the ends, one of which is taped. With hanging loops. The cups and hips padded.
The pink tulle corset: In generally good condition. With light wear overall. The left underwire has broken through on one side. A very small tear to the tulle near the edge of the eyelets on the back right panel at the middle of the back.
The hat: In generally good condition although delicate by nature. Multiple feathers broken or bent and a few detached but still included. Very light marks to the base of the hat. The underside with 'PHILIP TREACY/LONDON' and brand. With elastic strap.
The photograph: Neutral toned print on semi-gloss double weight paper with margins. Area of discolouration central portion of print, with soft handling marks in places. This work is sold framed. The reverse with framing label 'WOOLCOCK FRAMING /8 HUGENOT PLACE /LONDON SW18 2EN/ TEL/FAX: 0181 8742008'.
