ATELIER SWAROVSKI BY JEAN-PAUL GAULTIER, S/S 2020

These cutting-edge jewels, first unveiled on the runway at Jean Paul Gaultier's Spring Summer 2020 final haute couture show, are completely representative of his defiant nature, encompassing elements of 70s punk and 90s Cool Britannia. The unique collection plays on the image of Jean Paul Gaultier as the eternal enfant terrible, resulting in shimmering statement accessories. The set features cubic zirconia and Silvershade Swarovski Crystals, set in gold-plated brass. Jean Paul Gaultier’s 50th anniversary show – his final, legendary runway collection – featured over 700,000 crystals provided by longstanding collaborator Swarovski.

I am delighted to support such an important charity as Smart Works, which is really helping to empower women to succeed. This is something we are passionate about at Swarovski and what my great-great grandfather pioneered so brilliantly 125 years ago. This jewellery set, designed by the great Jean-Paul Gaultier is a statement in its own right - infused with the designer’s rebellious DNA and something I thought would be appropriate given the charity and what it stands for. I hope it brings joy to whoever manages to secure it – but also, most importantly, it’s proceeds help to empower more women through Smart Works. - Nadja Swarovski
