Hob Nob Restaurant, Florida, Mass., July 15, 1974 is not so much an image of a meal as it is a portrait of a person in a place – in this case Stephen Shore in Florida, Massachusetts; an orange for breakfast could even be interpreted as a cheeky nod to the paradoxical name of the town. Like a sort of diary, the scraps tell the story of a solitary and personal process.
