Lot Essay

Located within the private realms of the home, Evie’s practice combines carefully chosen architectural features to produce abstract sculptural forms which become her souvenirs. This sculpture is a fragment of the bread oven and interlocking beams taken from her childhood home as a site of exploration. By relocating them, she questions the significance of those hidden boundaries within the private and public spheres and what goes on either side of them. Evie graduated from Central Saint Martins in Fine Art and now works at Christie’s.
