Lot Essay

Kan Tai Keung, born in Panyu, Guangzhou, Guangdong, is an internationally renowned Hong Kong designer. In 1964, he started to study drawing and watercolor painting at the "Baihui Painting Garden" opened by his uncle Jin Weitian (1911-1998). He studied the subjects of "Colorology" and "Basic Design" taught by Wucius Wong in the off-campus course of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the ink painting course by Lui Shou-Kwan. Kan founded his own design company "Kan Tai Keung Design" (1988), which was later renamed to " Kan & Lau Design" (1996) and “KL & K Design” (2013).
