Lot Essay

Shi Hu, a native of Xushui County, Hebei, China. In 1958, he enrolled in the Beijing Arts and Crafts Academy, and in 1960 he furthered his studies at the Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts. He is a member of the Chinese Artists Association and once taught at the Beijing Arts and Crafts Academy. Shi’s works incorporate the creativity and cultural insights of various Chinese and Western painting traditions.
