Dated fourteenth day, seventh month, wuzi year (1948)
Dedicated to Jiade (Zhang Xinjia)

NOTE: According to the inscription, Zhang Daqian painted the present painting in Zhaojue Temple in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, after the rain. The artist resided in the Buddhist temple for an extended period of time after he returned from Dunhuang. The mushrooms were especially painted for his niece Xinjia.
