Lot Essay

Zhang Shaoshi, born in 1913. A native of Panyu District, Guangdong. He studied paintings under Zhang Chunchu, and has frequently exhibited in Hong Kong and taken in various joint exhibitons of the Bingshen Club. He specialiss in Chinese paintings, and focused primarily in the flower and birds genre, especially peonies. He was the founder of the Magnolia Studio of Art.
