Unmounted scroll, ink on coloured paper
21 x 18.5 cm. (8 14 x 7 14 in.)
Inscribed and signed by the artist, with imperial edicts with vermillion from the Empress Dowager Cixi
Accompanied by an envelope, inscribed by the artist.

NOTE:
Guan Zhenguo, a native of Boluo County in Guangdong Province, was a prominent military general during the late Qing Dynasty. He played a significant role in quelling the Taiping Rebellion, the anti-Qing uprising of the Tai Chao-Chuen Bagua Society in Taiwan, and the Zhangzhou Peasants' Uprising. His military achievements brought him great prestige at the imperial court.
