Zuzek's florals take many forms, ranging from loosely impressionistic to nearly scientifically accurate. Daffa-Dillard is the latter, containing a wide variety of species depicted with near-botanical precision. Poppies, tulips, carnations and ferns flow around the eponymous daffodils, all northern species. Zuzek grew up on a farm in upstate New York, and flowers from her childhood often made their way into her watercolors.
