The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The stretching appears to be original and both the stretcher and canvas are in very good condition. Both the ground and paint layer appear to be in very good condition, stable and well attached. Under UV light minor retouching is visible close to the left edge centre and the surface is coated with a discoloured varnish. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that this work appears to be in generally very good and original condition.
