Lettre autographe signée du poète britannique demandant un livre de botanique. Plaçant souvent la nature au centre de son travail, Ruskin utilise les livres de botanique comme sources d’inspiration et accorde beaucoup d’importance à l’exactitude de ses représentations. Il évoque les travaux de Baxter "My dear Sir, Baxter’s book is only named because many families have it. Get any eighteen penny or half crown book with outlines of plants. There are literally hundreds of such at the railroad bookstalls and child’s book shops".

Autograph letter signed where Ruskin asks for some botanical books.
