Lot Essay

Turner Prize-winning Sir Anish Kapoor was born in Mumbai, India, and is now one of Britain’s most prolific sculptors. One of his best-known works is the ArcelorMittal Orbit in London’s Olympic Park – this features in the artwork of the latest version of the British passport.
Kapoor has just completed an exhibition at the Museo d’Arte Contemporanea in Rome. He was elected Royal Academician in 1999, and in 2013 was knighted in the Queen’s Birthday Honours. In 2017 he was named the Genesis Prize Laureate.
Each impression of Untitled is inked and printed by hand using a cast-iron etching press on French BFK Rives naturel 280gsm paper.
