The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The work is structurally sound. There are flaking craquelures to the white passages, with some associated minor paint losses in places. There are some hairline drying craquelures to the pink passage in the lower area and the grey/white passage in the upper left quadrant. There are some signs of wear, with some associated minor paint losses along the extreme edges in places. There are some minor frame abrasions visible along the edges. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals some small cosmetic retouchings in places, predominantly in the lower corners, the central white area and in the brown right area. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals also a diagonal scratch in the upper left area.
