The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

- trimmed to or just outside the borderline
- a hard and slightly irregular 80 mm. vertical crease from the lower sheet edge into Abraham's leg (mainly visible in a raking light)
- the lower right corner made-up by approximately 15 mm., lower left corner made-up 15 mm.
- some other minor repairs and made-up areas and other minor defects
- a thin layer of wash applied on the print and flattened
- the reverse discoloured and with some surface dirt
