The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In addition to or in elaboration of the catalogue entry:
- trimmed to or just inside the borderline
- a large paper loss at the lower left corner, made-up with pen and ink, a made-up paper loss at the upper right corner and upper left corner, a repaired hole at lower centre and other smaller repairs
- a horizontal, flattened crease across the width of sheet, another oblique, soft flattened crease above it, a vertical, flattened crease across the height of the sheet
- a few pale stains at the lower margin, other pale stains and a stray of black pigment visible verso
- two paper hinges at the upper sheet edge
