The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In addition to or in elaboration of the catalogue entry:
- with narrow to thread margins on all sides
- an oblique 40 mm. repaired tear at the upper left corner
- a 15 x 15 mm. area torn and reattached at the upper right sheet edge
- a 100 mm. tear from the right sheet edge to the beard of the old man
- a few small tears and made-up paper losses in the margins
- paper splits in Christ's legs strengthened with paper paste on the reverse
- a few pale spots in the subject, mainly on on the central figure at right
- a 25 mm. tear at the lower sheet edge at centre, with the 'v' of pryvul retouched in pen and ink
- a few smaller paper splits and small made-up losses
- with the usual horizontal drying crease
