The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas is relined, wax-lined, and undulates. The surface is treated with a protective layer of varnish that presents minor inconsistencies in application. Frame abrasions with associated losses are to the edges. Networks of craquelure with associated stable tenting, small losses, and spots of discoloration are scattered. Visible under ultraviolet light: passages of inpainting are scattered throughout. Subject to the foregoing, it is our opinion that the work is in overall fair condition.
