Three volumes, royal octavo (265 × 180mm). Half-titles. 155 hand-colored lithographic plates with tinted backgrounds (browning and light spotting, occasional small stains, marginal tear in pl. 81 (Common American Deer) and few subsequent text-leaves). Original blindstamped brown sheep, spine lettered in gold, all edges gilt (vol. 1 case detached, vol. 3 hinges split and vol. 2 upper hinge, rubbed).
