Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The work is hinged periodically along the edges and to the corners to the backing board. The sheet undulates slightly. Minute tears are along the side edges, and a repaired tear, measuring 2 inches, is to the upper edge, right of center, all presumably in keeping with the artist's choice of a found support. Faint abrasions, handling marks and creases are visible intermittently throughout and are presumably all in keeping with the artist's choice of support. Faint water stains are to the upper edge, and a small passage of skinning is to the left edge, near the corner, both presumably in keeping with the artist's choice of support. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
