The scene on the inside of the present box is based on a painting by Italian artist Luca Giordano which was reproduced extensively in prints by the late 17th century. English print examples include one by John Smith in the collection of the National Portrait Gallery, London (Obj. No. NPG D11733), and one by Robert Sayer in the collection of the British Museum, London (Obj. No. 2010,7081.1405).

Overall with some minor wear, tiny scratches, and minor firing flaws, the metal mounts with some wear and rubbing, with some copper visible to the high spots, specifically to the side of the cover, some minor losses to the enamels, with a minor nick to the front with some associated hairline cracks visible both on the exterior and interior, with an associated custom brown velvet stand and red leather box.
