The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The multiple mirror plates with the typical tiny losses to the silvering scattered throughout, their surfaces with the typical scattered light scratches, commensurate with handling. A few of the narrow border-plates with breaks, including one horizontally below the espagnolette at the left; two to the vertical plate to the right of the central plate, near its upper end (underneath the giltwood pendant scroll); and one to the horizontal plate below the central plate, at its lower edge (to the lower-left of the central shell); but none unstable. The plates not unmounted for inspection. The frame re-gilt, with the typical scattered chips, losses to carving and gilt surfaces revealing gesso, bole and bare wood in areas as to be expected with age. Some scattered losses and restorations to the frame, mainly to small carved components. Good overall presentation, structurally sound and ready to hang.
