The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The painting presents well overall. The canvas has a glue lining. The varnish is clear and there is an uneven craquelure across the surface. Impastos throughout the work are nicely maintained. A small restored horizontal tear runs through the hand of the muse holding the wreath, measuring approximately 1 1/2 inches. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals a few additional retouches in the sky and scattered in the clouds below the muses. The painting is in good condition and is ready to hang.
