The painting presents well overall. The canvas is lined and is under strong tension on its stretcher. The varnish is clear. A vertical strip of restoration is visible along the right side of the painting, at the extreme edge. Some further restoration is visible to the sitter's proper right shoulder and chest. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals some minor strengthening in the sitter's hair and scattered in the background. The painting is ready to hang.
