Cylindrical, the body enameled with panels of translucent blue over an engine turned ground and painted with gold stars within borders of trailing green foliage and opalescent enamel pearls, the top of the cover with a green rosette, the underside engraved with two coats-of-arms accollé beneath a Marquis coronet, marked on inside of cover with charge mark, date letter U, and maker's mark, the flange further with maker's mark and décharge mark

The coats-of-arms on the present lot include those of a husband on the right, "azure, a chevron argent, in chief two antique crowns, base three mullets,” probably for Robert, and wife on the left, "azure, a chevron or, in chief a hunting horn, in base a dove with an olive branch in its beak."
