The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
With a clean and complete appearance, structurally sound and ready to place. This commode has recently undergone a program of restoration, the mounts all recently re-gilt with a bright tone and now with the typical light surface scratching, minor casting flaws, tarnish spots and wear; there are minor repairs and well-matched replacements to the edge sections to the top as well as the drawer divides. The carcass overall with minor marks, nicks and scratches as well as tiny repairs and replacements as to be expected with age. Ebonizing refreshed throughout. The top with some patch repairs to the veneers such as to the front edge and with consequential repairs to the brass inlay which has typical small repairs and replacements. Minor veneering repairs to the drawers, particularly to the middle drawer which has some repairs to the left side and bottom. The handles and escutcheons have been slightly repositioned. Some minor variations to the casting and tone of the ormolu on the drawer fronts. Saytr masks chutes are later. Sides with some faint cracking and lifting to veneers such as to the bottom right side as well as some filled narrow vertical cracks. Three of the shell mounts are later. Repairs to veneers on the back feet/brackets.
