The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

With age and construction cracks commensurate with age and use. With some separation at joins, now with some visible glue residue in areas. Possibly other repairs now concealed by paint. The cream painted surface with flaking, lifting, cracking and losses exposing wood beneath. With refreshment to the decoration and in some areas exposing previous decorative scheme. The giltwood elements with rubbing, flaking, cracking and losses exposing preparatory ground and bare wood. Some areas of refreshment to the gilding now discolored. The giltwood overall with a greyish patina, possibly from intentional oxidational. Two cracks to the reverse of the interior corners of the uprights, now with some associated losses, not readily visible when placed. With a repaired break to the right hand dolphin. The later marble top with minor surface wear.
