A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Overall in good decorative condition, sound and ready to place. The bronze with minor scattered nicks, marks, surface wear, scuffs and scratches. With typical rubbing, scattered minor loss to gilding, oxidation and tarnish, as to be expected. With some inherent casting imperfections and variations, including some visible seams and fine cracks from the making. Some of the deer lacking red beaded eyes. Some evidence of polish residue, and in some areas a light layer of surface dirt. One deer with a small blemish to the reverse, not readily visible, possibly from an adhesive label. The deer with the drip pan lacking one antler. Presents well as a garniture.
