The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The metal support is uniformly flat. The surface is slightly dirty and the varnish is clear. There are slight frame abrasions and small losses along the extreme edges, but these are usually hidden by the remit of the frame. There are a few small surfaces scratches in the dark background, but these do not distract from the overall composition. Inspection under ultraviolet light did not reveal any further restorations. The painting presents well and can be hung in its present state.
