The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Overall in good condition. Decorative, sound and ready to place. With typical scattered small nicks, minor surface scuffs and scratches, and light dings to edges. Some separation at joins visible. With some further minor surface wear to the arm terminals and feet, as to be expected with age and use. The painted and gilt decoration with lifting, flaking, cracking and small losses revealing bole and bare wood. The Japanned decoration refreshed, and with some overpainting along the top edge of the reverse of chair, not readily noticeable. The velvet upholstery possibly original, with minor wear commensurate with age and use. The velvet on the arms worn thin, down to the ground. With minor scattered light staining and surface wear, but generally presents well. The footstool with minor scattered nicks, marks and scratches. With some rubbing, lifting and flaking to decoration. The velvet upholstery with minor wear and light staining. Present well overall.
