The vases generally presenting well, with the typical intrinsic imperfections, in the making. The surfaces generally with scattered light scratches, scuffs and minute accretions, some minor flakes to their decoration, mainly at the rims. One vase with a long J-shaped hairline crack and associated tiny losses near its origin, issuing down from the rim between the two cartouches, approx. 9¹⁄₂ in. along its length.

The giltwood lotus also presenting well. With scattered small chips, losses to carving and gilt surfaces revealing a blac ksubstrate layer or bare wood in areas as to be expected with age. Several with areas of black scatching near their necks.
