Lot Essay

Purchased from The Way We Wore vintage boutique in Los Angeles during a 2015 shopping trip with the Los Angeles Times, "Iris Apfel searches Way We Wore for next 'totally mad' fashion find."

"I'm totally cuckoo for this." Iris says, to the Los Angeles Times, "It's Dior, and it's 80s, and I think it's the time that, possibly, Gianfranco Ferre was there. It's just divine. Look at the sleeves, and of course I love everything with feathers as I am the rare bird. Tweet tweet."

Iris wore the Dior jacket to the 38th Annual American Image Awards in New York City, 2016. The jacket was also featured in a 2021 article in Veranda Magazine where it was cited as one of her best looks.
