拍品專文

The Fulani, a nomadic people primarily inhabiting West Africa, craft these distinctive earrings from hammered and twisted metal. The traditional jewelry is sometimes wrapped in red fabric, as in these examples, to help alleviate the weight from the ears of the wearer. Usually gifted to women upon marriage, the earrings once served as a sign of wealth or nobility.
