Lot Essay

Iris Apfel partnered with H&M in celebration of her 100th birthday to create a capsule collection of clothing and accessories exemplifying her idiosyncratic style. These jackets were resounding stars of the collection, with Iris sporting a yellow version to her 100th birthday party.

In her memoir, Colorful, Iris writes, "My 100th birthday party, 2021. I wore canary yellow, of course, from my H&M collection. It was pure joy."
