Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Overall in decorative condition. The brass with typical rubbing, tarnish, oxidation and verdigris. The finial on the bird cage bent slightly out of straight. The corner to left of the cage door separating from the sides, but secure. The parrot with a significant build up of surface dirt, would benefit from a gentle cleaning. Some of the beads now lacking. The top of the stand with further oxidation and rusting, consistent with age and exposure to the elements. The base of the stand bent slightly out of form and somewhat unsteady. One of the supports reattached.
