ARAB-ISRAELI WAR PRESS PHOTOGRAPHS

Very large format photographs of the creation of the state of Israel.

A group of 5 press photographs (353 x 285 mm.), but without markings to versoes. (Fine condition.)

An interesting group of images, showing: a Jewish sniper behind a sandbagged position, perhaps in Jerusalem's Old City; a burning truck surrounded by Arab troops, part of an ambushed Jewish convoy; British (but possibly Israeli using British battledress) troops sheltering behind a dry stone wall and taking up firing positions; an Israeli military parade, clearly wearing British-style battledress and carrying Sten sub-machine guns; three stretcher bearers, one wearing a gas mask, another clutching a handkerchief to his face, remove a body from a bombed-out area. The images are extremely sharp and clear, in fine condition.
