Large collection of images showing the creation of the modern state of Bangladesh

71 press photographs, dated 1971, various sizes (most approx. 250 x 200 mm., a few larger and smaller), most with typescript descriptions on versos, stamps and serial numbers of American, French and British agencies. (Only a few images lightly creased at margins, one image more heavily creased.)

A very large collection of press photographs relating to the war of independence in East Pakistan and the foundation of the modern day, independent country of Bangladesh. Many of the photographs show refugees and displaced persons, there are numerous photographs of Bangladesh rebels and Indian troops. There are a number of photographs of politicians and emissaries, including one of Henry Kissinger.

31 images are reproductions of press photographs, but seemingly used by various media with various associated markings.
