Rare collection of pamphlets, newspapers and ephemera relating to Conscription, Peace Activism and Anti-Fascism after the First World War.

40 pamphlets and ephemera, various dates 1935-1946, various sizes (most approx. 205 x 138 mm., some larger and smaller). (A few margins lightly creased, a few lightly spotted with some rusting of staples.)

The collection includes: [ATTWOOD, Arthur (1913-2008)] – ATTWOOD AND OTHER SERVICE PERSONNEL DEFENCE COMMITTEE. An Appeal for Funds. London: [n.d. but 1946]. 2 leaflets. Attwood, a lifelong trade unionist, was imprisoned in 1946 as a leader of the so-called RAF mutiny, a strike action involving up to 50,000 men in 60 British air bases across India and South Asia protesting at conditions and slow demobilisation following the end of the Second World War.
