Rare English language weekly paper published from an Arab viewpoint.

85 issues bound in one volume, folio (300 x 220 mm.), with two special supplements bound in for vol. 1 No. 6 and Vol. 1 No. 13, text in English. (A few issues, more particularly at end of volume, with neat vertical creasefold, short marginal tear into headline of front page of Vol. 1 No. 20.) a few minor stamps in Hebrew.

This weekly newspaper contains caricatures, many of which anti-Zionist, and a few using anti-Semitic tropes. The British Mandatory authority interrupted publication several times, twice for three months and once for six months. A global geopolitical dimension is given by way of Muslim views from India, and surveys of British oil exploration in Muslim countries.

Khalidi & Khadduri 871: 'Useful as a chronicle of events during the two years in which the weekly appeared. The editor was a member of the first Arab Higher Committee and was exiled by the British with other members of the Committee to the Seychelles Islands in he Indian ocean in 1938.'
