The painting has been executed on oak panel, made up of a single board, it is not bevelled to the edges. There is a slight convex bow to the panel as seen from the recto of the painting. The painting presents well in natural light, with the detail of the composition well preserved. There is a fine pattern of craquelure as a result of the slight bow to the panel. There is an historic varnish that carries some dirt. Examination under UV light reveals some minor retouching to the left edge, likely a result of frame abrasions. There is some further very minor scattered retouching. The paint is stable.
