In the case of both canvases, they have been subject to relining; they are held under tension and remain stable. Both paintings present well in natural light, with the delicacy of colouring well preserved. There has been some slight thinning to the paint surface due to the relining process. Examination under UV light reveals scattered retouching across the canvas on both. The paint remains stable.
