The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The comports on putto supports (10 in. diameter) -- one example with pierced rim broken and lacking to half the circumference and a further associated stained break across the basket well, another with pierced section of rim broken and lacking to half the circumference, a crescent shaped section beneath this is broken out in two parts and rivetted (approximately 4 in. across), and a further associated 6 in. crack from rim encircling well of plate, the third example with rim broken in at least three sections and restuck, with traces of visible glue and some associated losses to enamels and slight chipping.
The high comports (101⁄2 in. diameter) -- all with rubbing and flaking to gilding, two with glaze or slight hairline cracks to plates.
The low comports (95⁄8 in. diameter) -- one with 4 in. section of foot broken and rivetted, one with shallow chip to underside of rim, one with 7 in. stained hairline crack to top.
The plates (91⁄8 in. diameter) -- one with 3 in. hairline crack from rim and glaze crazing, one with 3 in. hairline crack from rim and associated chipping at rim, one with 4 in hairline crack from rim.
Overall, some glaze crazing, slight surface scratching, wear and losses to gilding (particularly at rims), some minute chipping to extremities and stacking wear.
