The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The condition overall is good and the tapestry is ready to hang. The whole has been later backed with cotton. The upper edge has been stitched with velcro to the reverse for hanging. The upper border has been folded back and is not visible but is present. The border overall has been restored and there are later brown strips that have been inserted at the top and bottom. There are scattered areas of restoration and reweaving. The tapestry has been washed and there is some shrinkage to the support resulting in cockling / bunching in areas, most visible in the light silks. Some weak areas and areas with small repairs. There is discolouration and fading overall, as one would expect over time and exposure to light but in general the colours are fresh and bright and the imagery is clear.
