Oval, on pierced scroll pad feet and with floliate openwork apron, the body with beaded fluting and pierced foliate, quatrefoil and geometric panels, the border with beading, swags and flowers, with pierced foliage and flowers swing handle, later engraved in centre with the Royal arms in a rococo cartouche beneath a crown and crest, marked on body and handle

The arms are those of Ernest Augustus, Duke of Cumberland (1771-1851) fifth son of King George III of Great Britain and Hanover, as borne between 1801 and 1837. He succeeded to the throne of Hanover upon the death of his brother King William IV in 1837.
