Vase-shaped, the square plinth on four leaf-capped scroll feet with a band of acanthus foliage and beaded border, the spigot formed as a serpent wrapped around the lower part of the body and with ivory tap, the handles centred by a ram's mask, the body applied with laurel leaf swags and two medallions and below the rim with a frieze of palmettes alternating with foliate festoons, the detachable cover with pine-cone finial, engraved in the front medallion with a coat-of-arms, further engraved on cover and on base with a crest, marked underneath, on base of body, cover bezel and finial

The arms are those of Ffolkes quartering Hovell and Browne, almost certainly for Sir Martin Browne Ffolkes, 1st Bt. (1740-1821). He was created a baronet in 1774 and married Fanny (d.1813), daughter and co-heir of Sir John Turner Bt. of Warham, Norfolk, in 1777. He was a Fellow of the Royal Society and served as M.P. for King's Lynn.
