The mosaic is in overall very good condition. The mosaic is set into a metal bezel, which is concealed by the gilt moulding of the table. Various tesserae are minorly chipped along the perimeter of the mosaic and bezel. Several tesserae are lacking from the right wing of the grey dove. Five tesserae are lacking from the right edge of mosaic in the black ground. The gilt base is structurally sound and in good condition. Expected losses and rubbing to the gilding overall. One of the paw feet has been restored. The gilt moulding surrounding the mosaic is not permanently attached to the table and is removable. The tip of one wing and tongue tip of the same dragon are lacking, as well as losses in other areas to the composition, some cracking and associated losses, repairs and replacements to the composition.
