The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The first:
Overall condition is good.
The porcelain with minor scratches and marks to the glaze, and with a horizontal knock to one area approx. 1¼ in. in length, with some resulting loss to the glaze.
The ormolu brightly gilded and in good order, with only minor marks and wear.
The shade clean and in good condition with only very minor marks.

The second:
Overall good condition.
The base with filled plaster, suggesting previously lamped.
Some glazing flaws and knocks to the base including one large chip.
The base edge rather rough and chipped.
The brass mounts tarnished and pitted.

Electrical components appear to be complete but must be reconditioned prior to use, regardless of whether the lot is shown lit or in working condition in the catalogue.  We strongly advise that the item is reconditioned by an appropriately qualified electrician prior to any intended use.
