Lot Essay

This silkscreen shows the artist's initial design for The Man With The Golden Arm, 1955, before the addition of the actors photographs under pressure from the film studio. Bass commissioned Art Krebs Studio to produce a limited number of prints of his original design for gifts to friends and museums. Bass signed and gifted this poster to the vendor in 1990.
