From the archives of the publisher, pieces include: a 10x4 inch black and white contact sheet with 3 sequential images of MM wearing a white shirt. All photographs have pencilled annotations on the verso indicating where they would be placed in the magazine. Also included are 3 pieces of graph paper with the photo placements noted and a mock-up of the magazine cover; this has a black and white photograph of MM wearing a one-piece bathing suit cut-to-shape and placed on a bright red background. Interestingly, the first version of this 'MM Pin-Ups' magazine was considered too risque so it was pulled from the newsstands and replaced with a toned-down version. The contact photographs encapsulated and authenticated by PSA as "Type I". For more on Monroe and Pin-Ups Magazine please see lot 60 in the live sale.
