Lot Essay

Clark Gable (1901-1990) and Carole Lombard (1908-1942) first met on the set of No Man of Her Own (1932). Despite being the only film they made together, and originally having no romantic interest for each other, the couple reunited at a party in 1936 and were eventually married in 1939. Gable was an avid outdoorsman in his free time, including shooting and hunting. He was so passionate that for a time his MGM contract included a clause that he would not have to film during hunting season. Clearly, based on the present hunting licenses dated 1941, that upon their marriage Lombard joined Gable in this pastime.
Encapsulated and authenticated by PSA, both signatures graded "NM-MT 8".
